Regional Safety Conference - Europe
Over 130 participants representing more than 80 operators have registered for the forthcoming regional Flight Safety Conferences. The first conference is in Madrid on the 9th/10th March for our European and African customers. This is followed by Kuala Lumpur (Asia-Pacific), 13th/14th April and finishing in Miami (Americas), 18th/19th May.
There is a 2-day agenda focusing on in-service experience, feedback from safety investigations and the ATR safety initiatives.
The agenda has a strong focus on aircraft upset prevention training and best practices in flying the approach. In addition there are engineering presentations on powerplant in-service improvements and returning an aircraft to service following an operational exceedance.
The benefits of Performance Based Navigation will also be presented. A large proportion of ATR aircraft operate in airspace with significant variations in navigation accuracy and procedures. Therefore the ATR capabilities to support the implementation of PBN operations (arrival and departures procedures and associated training and documentation) will be highlighted.
ATR presenters are from the Flight Test, Training Centre, Engineering, Customer Support and Flight Operations teams in addition of course to the Flight Safety team. Of note we also have guest speakers from industry associations and customers.
The conference provides an ideal opportunity to share our feedback to operators, but also promotes the sharing of best practices amongst operators to drive improvements in flight safety.
